Rack-Mount Shelves Provide Reliable Equipment Support

June 10, 2015

Additional_Shelves.jpgInstalling and cabling equipment in two- and four-post racks is certainly not a glamorous job, but is often an inevitable part of a technician's day.

Since Chatsworth Products (CPI) began selling racks in 1991, the options for equipment support have continued to evolve to meet the needs of IT professionals. For example, some equipment has reduced its footprint and weight, such as computer monitors, while other equipment has gotten larger and heavier.

Though many rack-mount products can be attached directly to the rack frame, other types of equipment need shelves with particular features that will provide the results needed. Equipment that tends to create heat may need a vented shelf for enhanced airflow. Deeper and heavier equipment require a double-sided shelf with a high load rating.

If a technician needs to gain access to the back of equipment, then sliding shelves would certainly make that task a little more enjoyable. Similarly, rack-mount storage drawers come in handy when you need to store items such as manuals, laptops, extra cables and cords; while sliding keyboard trays make it easy to access keyboards when needed.

CPI is confident that we have a shelf to fit your needs. So, the next time you head to your local distributor for a couple of CPI's racks, go ahead and pick up the shelves as well.
